Hi
I have been towing a 2.7t Caravan with my D4 for 2.5years and it tows like a dream, we are 2 weeks away from picking up our 25ft van with a 3t weight dry.
You wont have an issue.
Cheers
hello.
we are about to buy a 2.5t caravan. The advice from the carvan compnay is that the Disco's self-levelling system is incompatible with towing a van. I have seen many LRs towing and I am surprised if this is the case. Can anyone advise me? thanks

The caravan company are idiots then, the air suspension's excellent & 2.5t is a tonne under the tow limit.
What they may be referring to is them not requiring a weight distribution hitch, which does seem to cause much consternation in the caravan community.
I would be worried about buying a van from a dealer that has no idea what vehicle is capable of towing which van or each vehicles limitations and strengths.
D3/4's are just about if not the best tow vehicles on the road. No need for a WDH like with Toyo or Nissans.
Attached is a photo of our van which is plated at 2.55 ton and our D3 tows it so well, especially when overtaking Patrols and Crusiers towing vans up hills etc.
cheers,
Terry

Yup, van company does not know nothin,Complete idiots.
There really are people out there with no idea. I tow a 3500kg van with a ball weight of 320kg. My biggest issue is all those Toyota's slowing me down.
All of the above is true!!! lol I'm trying to sell my WDH because I don't need it anymore.
Enjoy
Hmmm - why does the D4 come with "Tow Assist" it cannot tow a van.
I would be changing van dealers.

						Hello Terry
Thanks for your advice about the self-leveling system of the Disco. I picked up our off-road van yesterday. It is quite a high van and the nose does dip a bit. I note on your photo that your van sits very level. Did you need to add a higher tongue on your tow bar? best wishes Robert
