No worries. It's one of those really pain in the arse things to pin down. They only way I've done it in the past is with a very reliable mate sitting in the drivers seat with his foot on the brake while I crawl over and under the car with a bit of hose as a stethoscope.

Not it the best from an OH&S standpoint. Haven't had it happen in the disco yet, but probably because mine doesn't have a transmission. In other cars it has generally been something loose on the engine (AC compressor bracket for example) or engine or transmission mounts.

Only lasts for a couple of seconds max.
Probably due to my gentle driving style and the adaptive transmission settings slowing the kick down response.

Mine (MY13 TDV6) also does this on occasions and I put it down to same reason of driving technique.
However I'm sure I once read somewhere of a Service News relating to D4 of trans vibration at around 40kph which involved (from memory) the Dealer fitting an anti vibration mounting at rear of transmission.

Active mounts can still fail and not show any codes of any kind. They can fail and NOT leak vacuum off. At 198k I would say they are pretty well near end of life.
Also, check all vac lines to and from each one, and their control solenoid....
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Thanks Justin, will check mounts. Vac lines to and from are new, solenoids have been tested and all ok. Id say the mounts are the culprits, how difficult to change out?
