    Garry,
I presume that the trip computer was reset at the last fill otherwise it will be reading the consumption since the last time it was reset. Just a thought as mine is fairly accurate compared to actual usage and distance for each tank full.

Yes - reset - threads on the issue of trip computer accuracy in both D3 and D4 variants would indicate it under reads by about 10% and that is the norm for my car but for some reason on this leg the inaccuracy was much greater.

    Thanks

18.5 lts/100km is not good , something must be out of whack to use that much fuel . Al

I was towing about 1.1t but have done before and got about 13l/100km then. Previous tow was wider where this one was higher so wind resistance would have been about the same in both cases.

Car is driving around OK now - around town I am getting about 11/100km which is about the norm for around town.

Anyway time to weight and see what develops.

    Cheers

My RRS MY2006 has recently finished its extended warranty so I blanked the EGR and removed the tubes. There has been no change in performance, but when I scan the HCan I get an intermiitent DTC P0402 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected . No messages on the dash however. Is this to be expected?

Fatso, how did you pull up with your tracking of the sytem?

Gday , after the first time i found the po402 ( excess egr ) i kept resetting about evry week for about 6 weeks but it kept coming back , although i had no other codes or fault lights come up i eventualy put the egr system back in operation , untill i could find out if this PO402 was going to be a problem in that it would lead to a limp home mode or somthing but have unable to nail it . So i dont know if the PO402 is just a reading that just sits in the background or not . Be good if someone can throw some light on this . Al

    Thanks Al,

Ive just put a post on BBS, perhaps someone on there can shed some light.

In the meantime if anyone else has logged this fault code P0402, after blanking EGR on pre 07 TVD6 , let us know if it causes any dramas, or if you can safely ignore it

Good idea , i have posted elswhere and scoured the net on other forums but can not seem to get any info , my gut feel is the PO402 just sits in the background . I reckon all who have blanked ther pre 2007 td6 must have the same reading recorded , as mine is a Jan 2007 build i am hoping it is the same as pre 2007 build td6 cars as stated elswhere . Hope you get some info from BBS . Al

Got a reply to my enquiry from Pete at Bellautos. As you most likely know, they produce and supply blanking kits and ECU remapping solutions

He advised that because the EGR is mechanically blanked not electronically disabled, it is common to log P0402 fault. It does not present a problem so can be ignored

Fatso is your car a 6A VIN or a 7A ? That will tell you what 'build' it is.
