I regularly use my steering wheel mounted remote control command-shift buttons and whilst they're not as prominent as the paddles, they get lost whenever the wheel is turned so often find myself using the stick instead. However the 8-speed might be less inclined to hang onto gears as long as the 6-speed and therefore perhaps less desire to use command-shift.
