hello Together,
have the OL bullbar on my D3 and recently bough a tigerz11 12.000 pound winch which stopped working within 2 weeks of having it on the car.
as requested I sent the solenoid back but they can't replace until the end of the month and I have a recovery course trough my 4x4 club on in two weeks and like to have a winch fitted.
Tigerez11 will provide a refund so I'm thinking buying a "quality" winch as
I'm not to keen on further issues with a "cheap" winch.
Any suggestion for a reasonably priced but quality winch which will fit my OL bullbar?
Thanks a lot
Steve

i also have bene following Runva winches, i see they have a special on at the moment http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread...34#post1776434
thanks julian looking at runva is 8000 lb sufficient for a D3 with ct at tow at times ?
@weeds great $599 sounds excellent think i go for that
What caused the solenoid failure? How was yours wired on? Did you do it or OL? If the loom was the one supplied was the nifty battery isolator tight when winching? Sorry to ask about your problem but I have one too.
I would have had a chat about the cabling and solenoids with a auto sparky and sent the repair bill to Tigerz.
My ultimate Cheap winch "Aldi type" which only died when I broke it. Still have its soliniods you could have had for free.
8000lb is enough IF you are careful, if you use a snatch block it would be more than suitable. Why come back if you can fit the 12000lb one?
agreed 8000lb would be the bare minimum I would go on a D3 I went 12000lb as they are only a little bit more price wise but as stated gives you more flexibility re winching, as weakest link said why do a double line pull when you could do a single line, are you looking at cable or rope? Go rope!

Just saw that you plan on having a CT as well in that case I personally would only go 12000lb as the D3 is a very heavy vehicle and with additional forces like uphill or mud puts additional strain on the winch.

Steve 8000lbs isn't enough if you have the camper on, go 9500lbs as a minimum, for when you have the camper on.
I have a VRS 9500LB winch on our D4, been good so far, our daughter has the same winch and she has had her solenoid replaced once and her controller once in the same time period

hm installed by Davis Performance son would think technically sound, it did work after installation but after two weeks on the road and never using it tried to play around with it and realised remote stopped working. Called tigerz and they said just sent the solenoid back which I did but now they requesting whole box and cables so another hour to the sparky so avoid that in the future I rather buy a quality winch and hope I have less problems with it.
