Tell me the 2010 3L is still only a single turbo isn't it?
You have to get to the MY2012 to get the twin turbo SDV6 3L don't you?
The early 3L is a single turbo (155Kw) the difference won't be all that great particularly over a chipped 2.7L (140KW).

I will not be taking any notice of your advice all 3lts are twin turbo :rocket:
and it would appear as though eveyrone who has a 2.7, may be just trying to justify their own choice.
I have had both, get a 3lt, its chalk and cheese and theres more to it than just grunt
Cheers Ken
This may be true but also remember that a car is more than just an engine and all the other bits are 70k old as well.
You will have a few more maintenance items coming up shortly so may need to budget for them in the 1st or 2nd year of ownership.
The 3.0lt certainly has some go though. Had a brief ride in one last week with 6 other guys and it had plenty of go still.
I don't think I've seen any info on other accessory differences between the two cars under consideration. If the 3.0 is a base model SE with no options other than ediff and the 2.7 has everything under the sun except ediff, that may well tip the balance if you think you'll spend most of your time doing light duty 4x4 or tarmac driving.
I know two options I'd not want to be without using a car of this size as a daily are Rear Camera and Rear AC. The in-car nav is actually fairly meh; convenience aside, iPhone4 mapping is much better.
All MY10,11,12 3.0ltr are twin turbo 180Kw/600nm. A single turbo "detuned" 3.0l replaces the 2.7l as of MY13.
Brads advice is good in my book.
I have a 3.0l at the same Kms as the one you are considering, I will need to replace my pads and discs at the next service at ~80k km. I will also look at doing the transmission service. So you will definitely need to budget for that if it has not already been done (a question to ask the seller).
As far as the car is concerned, it drives as new.

Single turbo... I do not think so... Not on a 3lt, why reintroduce turbo lag? :wallbash:
Come on Sniegy clear it up, please
From Car Adice 2/oct/2012
"Headlining the 2013 Land Rover Discovery 4 upgrade is the introduction of a new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine to the entry-level model, which replaces the long-serving 2.7-litre turbo diesel unit. Power rises to 155kW (up 15kW) while torque now peaks at an impressive 520Nm (from 2000rpm), up 80Nm over the old engine."
I have had both and providing the extras are the same I would take the 3litre.
If it is at a dealer get it inspected to see where brakes are etc & see if you can get those done as part of sale with next service.
I chose a 3litre with rear air, hi ice & camera over a 3litre with ediff because i knew I would use the extras more than an ediff.
Cheers
