    ProSpeed UK accessories

Guys, I seem to recall ProSpeed UK were going to distribute through Mulgo in NSW....anyone had experience with them? They seem to have some great D3/4 expedition accessories on their site (nice white D4 in WA too!!) - especially the roof rack.

    It worked for me!

I ordered a Prospeed compressor guard from Mulgo and it has arrived, albiet caught up in the Christmas mail / parcel delay process.

The only downside is that they (Mulgo) wait until they have an order of sufficient volume to offset the freight costs. So if your in a hurry its probably not the way to go. I guess that Mulgo may change their arrangements based upon sufficient uptake?

I personally liked the look of the Prospeed kit and now I have some of their product in my hands I can say that it is solid and well engineered.

I like the look of their under body protection gear. I looked at the whole under body protection set up but balked at the price, definitely want something under there though.

Would be good if we could produce something locally, might save a bit on Freight, production and material costs

    Some more info here

I hate to say this but this is one field where LR could take a lesson from Jeep.

For about $650 you can tick the off road pack option when ordering a new Grand Cherokee which not only gives you 18" wheels and nearly full under body aluminium protection plates but also lower gearing for rock crawling.

And the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland comes standard with an e diff. Plus they already come with much larger tyres than a D3/4 comes with.

Standard they come with the equivalent of 265x65x18's sized tyres so you can end up legally with fairly decent sized off road tyres if you want to fit even bigger A/T's or Muds and with the off road pack that is where the lower gearing will come in real handy.

That and the fact the new GC Overland with all its luxury gizmo's, as I have said previously, is around 50k cheaper than a new equivalent spec HSE D4 makes them something worth considering when replacement time comes round. I just hope the new Defender delivers on all the hype that is expected of it otherwise LR will be in trouble in a couple of years.

    cheers,
    Terry

Ditto for GOE stuff - good quality and it helps support a "local" manufacturer/supplier.

How about putting together a package for full underbody protection for forum members; I'd certainly be interested when I take delivery of mine.

@ Gordon - you are missing a couple of components in your armour set though, like steering arm protection and the protection for transmission and whole middle part of the car

what price could you make us for them ?

Other than a fuel-tank shield, I make everything that is _necessary_ for a D3/D4. Don't know about you, but in 3 years of competition, I never hit anything in the "centre" of the car, nor was a steering guard ever of use. I used to make rear diff/control arm shields, but honestly they got in the way more than protected anything. Possibly a rear exhaust plate could be useful.

Of course, if you want to spend the money, I can make it for you ...........

    Cheers,

    Gordon
