    Procomp tyres - Any good?

G'day guys, in what has lead to me spending countless hours reviewing tyres, I have been given the option to get the Procomp All Terrain at a ridiculous price, it is in a 275/65/18's it has a 818mm rolling diameter.

What I'm after is any feedback from others who have used these tyres and there personal thoughts, I have so far only received 2nd hand feedback (all was positive) but no real feedback from people.

Secondly will they fit a D3 with Llams?

Pro Comp - Australia - All Terrain

    Cheers

Hey Julian, they look nice, would be a tight fit maybe?
Didn't notice if they're a light truck or passenger rating?
Might be irrelevant if they're THAT cheap
It's bloody hard to find a decent 18" tyre for much under 400! Painful when you want 5 of 'em!

Thanks Rich well thats a bummer I noticed that Gordon mentions that max diameter is 31.6" without mods.

Totally agree Rohan don't know how I'll explain to SWMBO the cost of the refit!

    Falken Wildpeak AT's

Have heard very little about these but all reports out of US have been favourable, I'm slowly shortening my list of possibilities down

The ProComp AT is a very good tyre - I was partially sponsored by them for a season and found them excellent.

You can fit 275/65R18 with a few mods - you will need to run constantly at off-road height, but they will always rub a little when under compression - particularly at the back. They are also a very big tyre, so speed readings, odometer, fuel consumption, braking and tracking are affected. They are also about 2cm over the max legal size you can fit to a D4, if you worry about such things.

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Sorry to thread jack, but I notice in this video his ARB has two d shackle recovery points on the front. I dont think mine has any kind of provision for these. Do you think this is different laws for different markets or a custom job?

Thanks Gordon, but after investigation they no longer are making the AT's so I don't want to end up possibly replacing with a different tyre, I'm looking at the Falkens now hopefully Boof can do me a deal

You beauty, just got clearance from "the leader of the opposition" (swmbo), to go and get the Bridgestone D697! Nice. She was helping me fit my goe rods this morning and I spent a lot of time pointing out how crappy the h/t tyres were
After close inspection the rears are only 105 load rated! Blimey, how did that get through RWC?
Thanks must go to Boof for his time/advice over the phone, much appreciated, but it's off to Bridgestone I go

Well done Rohan she's a keeper, I was throwing up last night between the Cooper AT3 and the Falken Wildpeaks however have since found out the Coopers in that size arent a LT construction so I'm going the Falkens, from all reports I might just be the first D3 on here with them! Many thanks to Boof from Camberwell Tyrepower for doing the hard yards to get them for me, your knowledge experience and contacts made the impossible possible!

Is that worth a free tyre!

    Cheers
    Julian
