Thread: Help....Engine malfunction warning light

Hi guys

While driving upto Old bar last night, we pulled over to switch drivers. Left the engine running, but when I tried to change the memory seat setting it moved only slighty each time I pressed the button. So turned car off and back on to be faced with loads of blinking lights, and error messages. Tried to do soft reset by get out of car, lock, leave for 2nd mins, until park brake off, but no luck. Tried open close 3 tines, still no luck. Called LR assist, they just suggested I try the same things. They said to continue with journey if possible. Drove off ok with park brake flashing, and other warning lights on, and no speedo. After about a minute the speedo started, and red triangle disappeared. Car drove perfectly though.
Left the car overnight, but still have the amber engine malfunction light on.

I am up the coast to kite surf and need to drive on the beach, maybe even do some 4wd tomorrow.
I know if I do a hard reset I loose the error codes. Is it worth trying this though and see if warning light comes back?

No speedo seemed rather drastic which suggested a poor earth somewhere but where to start? If a loose battery terminal was the cause then you could laugh about that.
