    Instrument cluster crack

I recently purchased a 2010 D4 and about 2 weeks after ownership, I noticed a crack in the instrument cluster that starts below the bottom RHS of the TfT panel and finishes about 5mm short of the speedometer.

Clearly this is not wear and tear - has anyone had this occur to them and were they able to make a warranty claim. The car is under standard warranty until November. I'll post a photo shortly.

    Any feedback would be appreciated!

I would claim it on warranty.

    I'll give it a shot. A cluster cover shouldn't just crack...unless I roll it...

A long while ago I had a similar problem with a Nissan. Claimed under warranty with no issues.

I have one on my cluster that is about 50mm long from the bottom. I have learnt to live with it as I'm way out of warranty. I don't imagine that the cluster cover is available as a spare part and the price of replacement clusters is a bit expensive.

I take it back, It seems that the panel is available at a reasonable price DISCO3.CO.UK - View topic - SWMBO and tin of beans onto instrument cluster !!

Part number LR038299 when entered in google is sold by a few aftermarket places in the uk for 15 - 20 pounds

There is a bulletin from Land Rover on this, if the car is under warranty it should be covered.

    Instrument cluster crack

Thanks for your thoughts guys. Went to ULR this morning and at first the service rep went down the line of "did you sit something there, or did something fall down there?" And when I explained to him how could I possibly know? He settled down a bit and they have one on order from the UK. Apparently they have to replace the whole unit, not just the clear plastic cover. So much waste, but that's modern cars. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362033124.942428.jpg

Fitted my new cluster lens tonight, about an hour of mucking about and pulling the dash apart. Cost was $45 from my friendly Land Rover spare parts dept.

Do you have any pictures/more detailed information about the fitting of the lense? I need to replace mine sometime.

    TIA

    Ivan
