    Rear plug?

What does this plug do? Is it commonly used or just a waste of space.

It has one battery direct feed and one switched (ignition) feed with corresponding ground (-ve) terminals. From memory they have 15A fuses but the voltage drop would be noticeable at that current. You can find the connector for it behind the left storage pocket.

    Hi "The Amors",
a little off the track here but that thumbnail shows an Anderson Connector tucked away as per a Traxide fitout to power a caravan. Did you have this fitted or does it come with the D4?

I also think that the white plug has the reversing lights wire in it, I tried using the normal one and it didn't work as a reverse. From memory what would normally be Brake and Reverse pins in the normal 7 pin are in fact Tail and Fog on the D4.

I use the white plug to charge the battery without having to open the bonnet, I bought my plug on line. Next time I take the drawers out I will have to check the rear lockers to see if there are any presents in there.

I replaced mine with the Anderson plug which used to sit just like the Amors (Traxide fitted) - actually Australs Brisbane did a great job mounting the Anderson beautifully in the white plug space so it looks factory fit

Correct - when picking up my new RRS MY10 3.0L from Barbagallos last week I asked the same question.

    Cheers

Also great for solar panel input. I leave vehicle all locked up at times for weeks and trickle top-up the batteries - quick/easy connection. Adapted (OK-butchered) a standard SCA trailer plug to take panel input to the correct pin layout for the white plug; so far all good.

Just guessing here, but I've also just bought a Traxide kit, that pic looks suspiciously like a pic from the installation guide. ;-)
I'll be fitting mine this WE, really looking forward to the firewall part...

LR has two sockets, British standard, they are called N (black) and S (white).
The N socket is similar to Australian 7 pin round with a dangerous modification (pin 5 in Australia powers the brakes and in the N socket it is connected to tail lights). Switch on the lights and the brakes will lock! And the car is approved for use in AUS. The S socket is mainly for power to the trailer.

    Anyway, here is the pinout:
    N socket (black):
    ----------------
    1. Left indicator
    2. Rear fog light
    3. Ground for lights
    4. Right indicator
    5. Right tail
    6. Brake light
    7. Left tail/plate

    S socket (white):
    ----------------
    1. Reversing light
    2. NC
    3. Ground
    4. Battery direct (30A)
    5. NC
    6. Switched 12V (15A)
    7. Ground

    I hope this helps.
