    Rear tailgate - not opening

    Hello, i'm having problems with my rear tailgate on discovery 3 2005 model. I cannot access cable on latch within the rear door. Is there any way possible to replace the cable or locking unit itself?

    Search is your friend,heaps of ways of sorting this,was a common problem with the D3.

    DISCO3.CO.UK also has heaps of info on how to sort this.

    My trouble was intermittent so when the door managed to open I took out the actuator and attached a string to the catch pull and out the side of the tailgate as a temporary measure. Purchased the actuator kit, not the lock, as the actuator was visibly sluggish. New actuator ....perfect. The old actuator seamed to have gummed up inside. Not a difficult operation.
