It helps by replacing the lubricating properties of the sulphur that has been taken out of diesel fuel. In turn that keeps the fuel system pumps and injectors lubricated. It also keeps the engine, turbo, EGR valves, FBH etc clean internally. These points are debatable but it also slightly helps fuel consumption and makes the engine run a bit quieter.

Does it lower diesel "rattle" - yes.. It's less combustible so smooths out the 'bang' or softens it if you like...
Does it prevent diesel bug etc... Nope!

I use TC W3 2 storke oil made by Hi Tec Oils. Hi Tec Oils are the second largest Australian oil company.
Prior to purchasing the product, I spoke with their head chemist and told him what I intended to use the TC W3 for. He couldn't recommend it for adding to diesel fuel, as that is not what it was designed for.....however he did say that the products cleaning and lubricating properties can only do the engine good.....and being a low ash mineral oil, cannot harm it in any way.
Once again, in no way did he recommend it for adding to diesel fuel.
I will keep using it in any case.

I use 2 stole oil on my td5 for years 200:1 ratio i have 300k on it and still on the original fuel pump also I cannot drive my defender 90 2012 without having 2 stroke oil mixed in.... Makes is a lot quieter and more power...

300,000km on original fuel pump... Anecdotal evidence. I know of several that ran that far on nothing but the cheapest available diesel on the day.
Long pump life can be attributed to not running tank too low between fills and operating conditions for vehicle.
Noise - will agree on this one.
It does soften the rattle, as does Bio blend fuel.
More power - butt dyno not acceptable and often inaccurate (wrong).
Have you run it up on a dyno to test this?
