I spoke with a roof rack company in Adelaide today about this set up. Was looking at doing the same. I haven't got any tracks at present but was looking at the LR ones. They said that as the LR tracks and the Rhino tracks are angled slightly different, the Rhino foot doesn't get a great deal of surface area to grip onto. They seem to think that it all looks ok but the fitment is slightly compromised. Looks like I'll just get a complete rhino set up with both the tracks and the aero bars. What do you think about their comments?
    Cheers
The rack is loaded up as we head north, I'll let you know if it holds up image.jpg

    Hi Hoppy,

This looks like a nice rack and a neat solution to reduce height. Can you tell me what the overall height of the rack is above the roof rails?

    Cheers,
    Jon

Rhino Rack failure rear of D#

I have just done 15,00Km Tassie across the Barkly / Gibb to Cape Leveque and Tanami.

By the Kimberly I realised the original rear roof rail connector screw had sheared off and the rail still attached to the roof rack foot was bouncing on the roof itself .

The only reason I can think of is that the roof has a slight curve , dipping at the rear and I have an aluminium plate (Oz tent RV$) tent box firmly attached by 6 bolts. The rack can probably flex enough to cope but not with the rigid tent box not allowing flex.

Eventually it happened on teh other side .I just strapped both sides to teh rear tow ring.

Have not sorted out how to fix yet. Anyone else had this issue

In your photo I can see a rim up on your roof rack, why a rim only?
