The D4 already has them

Folks,
has anyone fitted a set of the LED daylight light strips to their D3/4 ala Audi fashion?
Was toying with the idea.
Thoughts?
ciao!

mine is a D3, no LEDs.
Not keen on the look of the LR version that goes in a circle. IMO it looks **** poor!
Was after more the Audi look.
anyway will keep pondering.
cheers
341GBP for some LED strips!! Bloody heck!
I can get third party strips for under $30 AUD.
LR at it again!
George,
any pics of that location? Legislation wise if they are legaon on vehicle then surely that precedent applies accross others?
Need to do more research yet. My other half is not convinced either, she seems to think it may make the car look "boganish! "
We shall see! For $30 I might buy a set and tape them to where I am thinking and see what they look like in daytime and at night before permanelty fixing.
cheers

Yep they like to charge - the full LR price is even more than that! In this case it is a kit with all the mounting hardware, relays and cabling etc.:
For D3's the LED strips would have to be mounted a different way as you can see they have a specific mounting point for the D4 (if indeed the kit could be used in a D3):
PS in the case of the circularly arranged LEDs, they are not considered day time running lights as they do not remain on with out the lights switched on. They are termed "Signature LED's" to give the car a distinctive look.
The kit above, when wired in, will always be on when the main lights are switched off. From the Manual:
"DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS
With the lighting control in the Off position,
Daytime running lamps will switch on
automatically under the following conditions:
• The engine is running.
• The gear selector is out of Park (P).
• The parking brake is not applied (is
released) - market dependent.
Unless required or prohibited by law,
daytime running lamps can be
disabled or enabled by a Land Rover
Dealer/Authorised Repairer."

interesting however all the vehicles I have seen with these LED strips be it audi, Mercs to Hyundies all seem to have them on both day and night.
I was simply going to take a feed off the ignition and use it to trigger a relay.
Ignition on, lights on. Could always have a dash switch if that was a legislative requirement.
