I'm guessing not as much as you'd expect from 8-9 litres. Probably top out at 600nm.

It has a 509 c.i. Chev big block and an Allison auto. I have no idea of torque/hp figures or whether it is stock standard. I was a passenger from Rochester MI, to Milwaukee and I can assure you it cruises at 80 with the rig on behind and does it easy.

I haven't read through all the posts but there is a D3 that has the Ute mod in Albany, Western Australia. See it around a fair bit, hes a tradie.
Sorry, just saw his car has been mentioned already.

A lot of you are very much stuck in nanny state Australia mode, there is a probably an equal or larger market in America for a Disco 5 dual can pickup. Even Honda make an SUV ute for that market, look at how many people are swapping 4WD station wagons for Navaras and Hiluxs and all them, look at how many people get wagons cut into utes. There is a big market segment, and the luxury one would probably outsell the poverty pack too!! Utes are "cool" and everyone has respect for Landy utes.

And Fonfe, you're all confused, we like utes, Yanks like pickups, this is a pickup, they'd sell like hot cakes I can guarantee it and people would pay for them!! Discos don't cost much in the states anyway. There is a big enough market in the US alone. Oh and there is a commercial model of the Discovery in the UK, always has been, it avoids the taxes, no reason a ute wouldn't.

....or a third axle. 6x6 would be nice!
    Cheers,
