There also a rub on polish that LR make that stops the noise if its when new wiper blades are fitted. (Well it was when I was in a uk dealer, don't know if its available for oz) used it on my ford and worked a treat on slightly worn blades
Sick of the dry squeal my D4 had from new on first wipe, and with the vehicle now 35,000km old and winter approaching I went looking for a wiper replacement that is cost efficient, will last a long time in what is a hot dry climate a large part of the year.. And be QUIET...
Turns out that Silblade make a direct fit replacement... Part# FB122.
Attachment 59504
Yes, they cost a little more - but cheaper than genuine...
Wipers x 2 - $44.00
Shipping - $38.66
Total - $82.66
But the benefits (those with Silblade already know) is they last a long, long time.
Unaffected by UV
Ozone inert
Unaffected by Temperature
Took less than 60 seconds to fit both...
And the bliss... Perfect wipe, quiet..
(Just like the wifes D2 - it's had the same pair of Silblade since the group...)

SubscriberI have just paid Amazon US $25.32 for a pair of "Bosch 4822 Evolution All-Season Bracketless Wiper Blade, 22" to be delivered to my sister in California and she has paid $18 to airmail them on to me Oz, should arrive next week.
There are freight forwarding company's in the US who will send on goods bought on line to Au customers. There was an article about it in "Australian Tech Life" a few months ago.

Tombie - how are these going - in the time I have had my car I have replaced the blades with expensive ($38 for one) to cheap ($12 for two) and the performance has always been the same - blades work fine but are noisy. Replaced the drivers side with a TRIDON on Sun and noisy straight away. The passenger side has a $6 universal REPCO one in it and no noise but the drivers side was noisy.
Why is it only the drivers side that is noisy??Oh - had the windscreen replaced last Oct and the blades were noisy straight away on the new clean windscreen.
I do not want to pay extra for SillBlade if they are only going to make noise on the drivers side like all the others have.
Cheers

Mine must be an odd one.
Still running the original blades at about 30K km and they work as good as new - have never made any noise or shuddered at all.
Made sure I told them not to replace the wiper blades when it went in for it's 26K service as it didn't need new ones.
I'm on my second windscreen - had it replaced after a rock at about 15K km.
I've run Rainex on both screens since new and don't turn the wipers on as much as most other vehicles on the road, so I suppose that helps a bit. And I suppose we don't get as much rain in Kalgoorlie as many other places, but have been getting a fair bit in Perth lately and on a couple of trips between the two.
Cheers .........

I ordered two sets of Sillblades from Amazon and they were pathetic. Shuddered so badly that i replaced them with Bosch.
Maybe i got a dud set but the Bosch work fine.
