    Upper Tail Light Broken

SWMBO managed to back into something in a carpark. Fortunately (!) only problem is the upper brake light in the centre of the tailgate is smashed.

Looks like you have to buy the full assembly approx $263 at dealer. Nothing showing on Ebay.

Anyone know how this is removed / replaced?

    There are no external fixings.

The cover also has the water spray for the rear window. Assume the internal trim needs to be removed but any tips would be appreciated.

I searched the forum but no prior mention of this could be found.

    Thanks

Ooh you're in for some fun. Apparently it's all bonded to the metalwork with some variety of super sticky adhesive kind similar to what they use for windscreens.

Have a hunt on Disco3.co.uk for the instructions. They're on there, I just couldn't find them with a 10 second search.

It only looks like a simple light to be replaced, but it's bonded it to the upper tailgate. A right rear pain in you know what.

We normally use a windscreen fitter to R & R the unit. We then wire, test & clear the unit.
Maybe good to ring a windscreen fitter & ask if they have done one before as it is very easy to scratch the paintwork, so care must be taken.

    Good luck.
