    TDV6 Aftermarket Exhaust

Does anyone know of an organisation doing aftermarket exhausts for the TDV6. One of the disappointing things about owning a TDV6 is the rather bland exhaust note - very pedestrian.

My brother who has a TDV8 Landcruiser has a big exhaust on his and while a bit loud for my tastes it does sound so nice and did add a couple of nms to his low power engine.

Any one in Aust doing this sort of thing for the TDV6?

Sorry to say it but no matter what exhaust you get it won't ever sound as good as a V8.

Subjective... A spooling Diesel sounds awesome.

    V8s aren't all that... V10 and V12 perhaps...

V8s are just a legacy of our inner bogun

Agreed, I sure miss that sound on both of my sterile exhaust noted vehicles.

My VW has a little whistle, the D4 has the little whoosh from the waste gate (or whatever that sound is between the two turbos), but the spool sound is sweet.

My comments were in relation to Garry's observation about how good his brothers TDV8 Landcruiser sounds with a big exhaust. My point was that a V6 diesel with a big exhaust chances are wouldn't sound as good as a V8 with a big exhaust and yes a V10 more than likely will sound better again than a V8.

However As for how good a V12 diesels with a big exhaust would sound in a road registered 4x4 passenger vehicle, which this topic relates too ...well surely that is the only subjective observation in this little discussion. ...
    Cheers,
    Terry

Thanks Craig - looks as if you just got stuff made up and it looks as if it worked for you but just as easy could have been the opposite.

Looking for a system that is specifically made for the TDV6 (2.7) and is proven.

    Cheers

Garry, not sure if they offer a system for the TDV6 but try Taipan XP. I have a Taipan XP 3" system on my TD5 and it's magic.
