You guys are being pretty unfair to OL. I just got my home delivered copy yesterday and the power and torque figures are obviously dyno figures at the wheels, which the owner supplied. They are probably correct compared with other dyno figures I have seen that are much lower than the crankshaft ratings.

The report also said that the owner stated that the Llams was British and similar with other statements that came from the owner. It seems to me that the owner has not understood a lot of stuff about his car.

The car is very nice, a bit like a white version of my Stornaway Grey D4. When he fits his long range tank it will be very similar, except mine ia an SE.

What worried me more was the comparison later on in the mag where the D4 came second to the LC200 again. One of the issues was fuel consumption which had more stars for the LC than the D4. When travelling in convoy with a 200 on our Cape York trip last year my D4 used significantly less fuel at every fill up than the 200. The 200 driver was very impressed!

We should be grateful for the publicity. Nearly every issue has something good to say about a Disco. I also subscribe to 4WD Action and we have plenty to complain about in that mag! OL at least tries to include the many cars that are not Patrols and LandCruisers and generally gets the facts on them more accurate.

I have a GQ Patrol with a 6.5 Chev Diesel so I also quite like 4WDA, despite their shortcomings. The Birdsville video last month showed a GU Patrol TD42 with 500 HP. Although the twin turbos are huge, I doubt very much that 500 HP is accurate but it is what the owner was saying. Pretty difficult to check such facts without dynoing the truck in Birdsville.

Now that is a bit of an exaggeration. I have never let my beard get any longer than this.

I refuse to be a beardy weirdy (at least ATM )

I'm making up for the beardy weirdness by wearing a slouchy beanie instead
