What do you reckon...keep the existing gasket and apply the Permatex 3J to both sides..or ditch the gasket?

What a bugger of a job...took 1 minute to pull the sender out and 1.5 hours to get it back in!

should have modified the gasket to suit the different tank boss!

Will fill the tank today and check my handy work.

Forgot to respond to this.. Yes this did the trick. No more leaks from the sender boss. However I have since found some leaks coming from the hoses connecting to the main tank. This is only ever an issue when I leave the pump on and the system overflows into the auxiliary tank.

When I can be bothered, I will pull of the inner guard and tighten all the hose clamps. Might even use some of the gasket sealed too!

Just had mine checked out and it wasn't the sender unit seal, it was the pump which was stuffed at 12 months. Had the pump replaced was quite cheap at about $60 but still a bit disappointing.
