    OIL LEAK ZF 6HP.26

Hi guys got a WEIRD one here, hope you can help. Ive got a RRS TDV8 and my wifes got a Ford Territory turbo both with the ZF 6HP 26 gearbox.. We were away for 6 weeks and both cars remained at home. Both cars started and all good but noticed the next day a big pool of oil on the garage floor, but not just under my car but both. Had a look under both cars and both are leaking from the gearbox WHAT THE!!! The RRS just ran out of warranty last week, PERFECT TIMING. Any ideas, where to get it repaired would be appreciated. I live in the Mornington Peninsula south of Melbourne.

    Thanks

A&B automatics http://www.abautomatics.com.au/ use no one else, they are the ZF rep for the Southern Hemisphere.

Brilliant workshop & great bunch of guys.

Most likely be just a sump gasket &/or O ring connector seal.

    Cheers

Have you had a transmission service to either car, if you have had the repalcement sump/service kit has a removeable plastic transport unit on the sump which requires removal and if not can cause a leak at the rear of the transmission
    Hope this helps

IRONDOC thanks for the reply no always parked on the same side. Update today the Ford Territorys oil leak has stopped maybe due to its steel pan but the RRS still leaking like a bastard!
mechanic2you thanks as well. no it still the original sump and the transmission has not been serviced its done 120000 k's and not much towing. The Territory has only done 70000 k's WEIRD.
