    List of Updates/Problem fixes/Recalls for D4

    Hi there.

I have had my D4 for just over a year now and dont get the time to visit this forum regularly.

Just wondering if there is a list of updates or upgrades that Land Rover perform when I take my car in for service.

I have read that there is a transmission update and something to do with the turbo. I have noticed a fair bit of smoke out the back when i put the boot in and also a fair bit in the mornings.

Are there any official bulletins from LR about this?

Thanks for any info on this.

If you hop on and register for Topix, and then enter your vin, it will give you updates that have not been completed on your car.

    Maybe check their first.

Brett hi, would you please advise what is "TOPIX" and how do you register. I have a D4 and would be interested in finding about recalls etc.
    Best wishes

There are a lot of TSBS which will not be done unless:
    the customer complains of.....................issue.
Turbo drain pipe mod; smoking on acceleration.
Gear box software update for 8 speed.
    Constant latest updates for ICE.

    Anyone think of any others?

Great information & useful link thanks.

Interesting to note my 3.0L D4 is in for it's 10k service this Friday, however they have told me they do not change the oil until 26k for the first time

I was looking at either doing the oil change myself or paying them to do it, however I log onto topix and it tell's me Outstanding campaigns
    -F206 - 13k oil service
    - F158 - renew brake fluid

So where do I go from here, dealer tells me I have to pay if I want the oil changed before 26k (corperate servicing) yet Topix telss me 13k oil change and 26k service......

To make matters worse JB I think you will find that the non oil change check up is counted as one of the free services. It was for me. They said on the next service sticker I'm due in me in October for the 12 month service and I'm telling them to change the oil, it won't be at 26000.

JB/James. I think you will find that on corporate servicing they will do the bare minimum to keep costs down. Oil change is 26K Km - optional at 13k Km on 3.0Ltr. In my case LR dealer recommended oil change at the 13K Km check. I have continued to get my oil changed every 13K Km - I am paying for my servicing so it is my call not some leasing company.
    Cheers,

    Sean

Yeah tend to agree, still my call which is good in the way my car is financed, only thing is I will have to pay for the oil change.

Doesn't surprise me the more I learn about LR. Don't seem to have a 'standard' or level of decency behind their product. It's evident at $100k+ vehicles they are getting left behind in quality of service, aftercare, and customer loyalty from many of my personal experiences with other brands.

For eg, BMW covered all standard services when I had the X5 which covered everything, never paid for anything for the first 3 years and servicing was completed with regular 10k services and oil changes.

Mind you still love the D4 though

Might be a function of which dealer you happen to buy from as much as LR. Some will go further to keep the goodwill, others just do what LR will pay them for.

FWIW, having had my software updated for the hesitation at junctions/roundabouts (LTB00545), have to say it's made a marked improvement. Still slight hesitation due to inertia, but no where like almost loss of power. Still early days, just being over a week, but so far so good. Consumption went up immediately after the change, as I think the adaptive had to re-learn my driving style.
