He was extremely helpful and you can see the price for yourself... delivery was 425 pound for air freight and courier delivery directly to my door in Darwin.

Make sure you specify that you need the rims with the ET44 offset. VERY important.
That's considerably more than ordering it from me - and rather cheeky that they use a picture of my car to advertise the product

    I shall have words ....

Looks like the price has gone up a fair bit since I got mine So much for competition.

The 425 pounds was actually for the delivery of 6 rims too - sorry for the oversight.

The pictures he's using looked to be pinched from the Compomotive web site by the looks of it.

He's also using a conversion rate of 69pence to the dollar

He also offers directly paying in GBP and PayPal where you can use your credit card conversion rate (which is normally way better), but it's a moot point if the prices have gone up (and the exchange rates have gotten worse too).

Gordon, it's really handy having them directly delivered to your door via air courier (it took 4 days to freight them from the UK to my door!) and their postage charges are way less that here it seems. Have you considered organising a shipping agent in the UK and directly shipping them to customers instead of sea shipping them to Perth then road freighting them elsewhere in Oz? It'd save a heap of time and may work out better from an end user cost perspective..? Customs duty would have to be paid directly by the customer then though I guess.

We have been restructuring prices on all our products, if you've checked the website lately. The new cost of the rims includes delivery to your nearest depot, then it's up to you to collect or use a local courier. That way we don't get stuck with trying to organise exact delivery times etc, which never works, and the customer gets a slightly cheaper deal.

As far as air freight is concerned, I offer it for a cost (as they do), and don't see any great advantage over waiting 5 days and then having to pay duty, GST and airport charges, versus 10 days and having to pay nothing (and still getting a cheaper price)? Surely the cost savings are worth 5 days? Note that in all cases, those times are approximate, dependent on how quickly Customs clear them.

The problem with overseas sites advertising at an inflated conversion rate is that if you don't work out the conversion yourself, but rely on their advertised price (when you select "show price in Australian dollars"), it works out a lot more expensive than what they've advertised.

    Cheers,

    Gordon
