    Sound from the Rear

    Hi All

I was squatting beside my car last sunday and suddenly there is a sound coming from undercarriage that goes tock....tock..tock for about 30 seconds.

Anybody has an idea Where does the sounds come from.

Take note it has been park there overnight.

It was probably the valves for the air springs opening and closing momentarily as the suspension ecu monitored the height sensors as it lowered a little to level the vehicle. The rear valve block in behind the left rear wheel.

First thing you should do before squatting next to your car and hearing tock... tock noises is make sure you have not eaten cabbage/beans the night before as it might be you and not the car. Sorry could not help it.

IIRC the susension ecu checks the heights and adjusts downwards if needed to keep the vehicle level 2 hrs after the engine was last switched-off then every 6 hrs thereafter.

And that's why I love living in Australia.

In many other countries you wouldn't hang around waiting thirty seconds to see if the ticking sound is going to stop.
