    fitting drawers with cargo barrier

Could someone advise the measurement between tailgate and a cargo barrier please? I'd like to order both drawers and barrier, but want to know they'll fit together.
I'm thinking the Boab drawers with sliding top deck which is 980mm long, and milford barrier...

    Thanks
    Andrew

Have you looked at offroadsystems.com.au ? That's where I procured my shelf and slide from. Great setup with medicar in perth fitting it as well as the cargo barrier. Works like a dream. Just remember to fit a socket extension into the spare wheel release if you don't want to have to take all the shelf out again.

    thanks.
Built my last one with ORS DIY drawers. Best fridge slide. But not what I'm after this time round. I like the idea of the removable plastic boxes, which is basically what I already use without drawers...
Not fussed about the spare wheel - carrier and tank get installed next week.

Sounds like a good setup :-). I don't have the drawers either. Just went for a shelf the I can stash all the recovery gear underneath and then plastic boxes on top. Nice and flexible. Would live to get a wheel carrier on the back, the wife is not convinced though :-)

    Drawer / Cargo barrier setup

Building a drawer / cargo barrier setup at the moment and found some great ideas and plans in an older post (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/105305-drawer-system-6.html) – they also have a variety of members contributions on drawer options / sizes in the posts and you may be able to find what you’re looking for.
Heard a story about a guy with no cargo barrier that threw his spare tyre in the back of the D3 after getting a flat – I have done the same. He rolled and the tyre broke his neck and he is now a quadriplegic. In the ALRO post there are some guys who mount water tanks, etc on the passenger’s side of the cargo barrier behind the back seats. I would not want to be in the cab with a big water container bouncing around the cab in a rollover if it breaks its mountings.

Also make sure you make up a manual tailgate release before you put the cargo barrier in. If the tailgate latch goes (very prone to failure) and you can't get into the boot then you are up a certain creek without a paddle.

Plenty of great advice on here about the mod.

    Cheers,
    Rob

    Cargo barrier / Tailgate release

Hi, Sorry to highjack this thread but am interested in the Manual tailgate release subject as I had this exact problem in my TD5 with a cargo barrier and it was a real pain (fully loaded for Simpson / CSR trip). I have a Cargo Barrier in my 2012 D4 and don't want to go through it again.
I have tried searching but didn't get anywhere.
    Thanks
    Mike L
