    Gearbox rebuild - AGAIN

In Feb this year the gearbox in my D3 was rebuilt due to a variety of faults.

During the rebuild a faulty bank of solenoid valves was fitted and the company doing the rebuild then took a month to admit to the problem. During this month I drove the car.

They told me that some damage 'might' have been done to the gearbox during this tome because of the faulty solenoids, but I should just drive the car and 'see what happens'.

Well, today I dropped the car off to get the gearbox done again as it appears that the some of the clutch packs have been damaged by driving the car with the faulty solenoids.

Let's see if they can do it properly this time.

Was offered a rebuild or new box at almost the same price. Took the new box myself at about 6k fitted by rittas (Melb) at about 250,000km

Who did your rebuild. I assume they are fixing it under warranty?

ATA in Sydney did it the first time covered by my extended warranty.

This time it is covered by ATA's warranty.

******** are the ones who did my first one also.
They didn't perform the job correctly, to put it mildly and of course I spent another $7K just out of warranty, having Coopers replace it much to to my satisfaction.
The greasy bastard replaced a solenoid just to get the box out of warranty.

Don't use ******. They are either incompetent, bogy or both.

ATA was not my choice. I made the original claim under the used car warranty through the dealer I purchased it from. They made the claim under the extended warranty instead of covering it themselves (another 'discussion' point).

The dealer sent the car to ATA who botched the original rebuild.

Now I am stuck trying to get them to fix their botch.

Latest is 'there is nothing wrong' with the gearbox. 'We cannot fault it'.

This is the game they played when they put the faulty solenoids in it the first time.

I have told them I am not playing the game this time and given them a short amount of time to agree to replace/rebuild the gearbox, before I take the matter further.
