My D4's radio says it will stay on for an hour if turned on with the ignition off, although that was last tried about 3 years ago.

Edit: Hmm, maybe that was 4 years ago in my D2 'cos there's no 1 hr message now.

A good case for a Dual Battery System by the sounds of it.

Definitely have to look out for the drive's next time we go thru brissie.

If I have my ignition key set to accessory the radio stays on permanently. If the ignition is off or out of the ignition and the radio is on, it only stays on for 10 mins.

If you do go to the Yatala Drive in make sure your there early, ive had to sit in line for up to a hour a few times over the last few years, also, the Pie shop round the corner isn't as good as it was years ago

I love how I can leave the radio on in my RRC all day long while I work on it (the battery in it at the present is about 5 years old), and then start it at the end of the day...

I think the Disco just has a start/stop button. Is there a way to pop it into accessory mode?

Not really, you can push the start button but keep your foot off the brake,it will sit in accessory mode and have everything on including the ignition and drain the battery quickly.

They forgot about accessory mode in the D4,another couple of steps backwards again.......

Damn. I kinda like the Drive-In too. 2 hours with the ignition on is suboptimal.

    I have a MY11 D4 SDV6 SE with the Standard Radio.
I have also been to the Yatala Drive in the D4 with the kids.

I stopped the D4 via the Start/Stop Button and then just pressed the Radio Button to only turn the Radio On.
The Ignition and Dash did not light up, only the radio appeared to be On.
The Radio did turn off after about a hour or so but i just pressed the Radio Button again.

At the Drive-in - no doubt internal lights on....

Really, the movie experience must have been ordinary with the interior light on. ..

I dont understand how this much draw from accessories for the radio is normal/acceptable. These cars pump out huge amps around town even with lights on....get it checked. I can leave a cd playing all day with my d2 without a problem after short runs. Surely power draw on a d4 with radio only should not be a problem whatsoever for 2 hours...

    Cheers

Edit...just read Scarry's post. ...bugger...engineering before brains at LR on that one.
