    Audible alerts stopped working

    G'day guys,

I have a 05 D3 that has recently stopped alerting me.

    No turn signal clicking

    No head light alarm

No system beeps or bongs at all

    The radio plays ok however.

Can anybody shed some light on a fuse or particular system that I need to check?

I have just replaced the alternator after it died and the battery did run completely flat, should this play a role here?

I'd appreciate any help from the Discovery brains trust.

I would disconnect the battery for 30 seconds to cause the electronics to start from cold.

Be sure to open the bonnet, close the doors and wait for at least 5 minutes to ensure all computers have shut down.
Then do as Graeme is saying; this will reset, or you can do a hard reset by removing both battery leads and shorting them together (you will need a spanner or screwdriver to do that as they are too short to touch each other).
    This will reset everything.

Given this new feature: "No system beeps or bongs at all"
I would leave it exactly as it is now

Any way of finding out the fault, and advertising the fix for all of us who "need the bings and bongs to stop, now"

I had this happen to me a few years ago now and the fix was to replace the instrument pack. Not sure of the cost though as it was fixed under the extended warranty I purchased with the car.
