    ECU Location 2011MY D4

OK, I need to know for sure the type of ECU my 2011 D4 has, after speaking to two tuners about power upgrades, now as far as the UK goes, the 2.7l TDV6 was discontinued in 2010, so when I mentioned I had a 2011 build 2.7l D4 both of these tuners were confused, they need to know if our ECU is the old Siemans unit or the new Bosch unit, for this I need the part number, so where is it located

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

G'day Baz, can't tell you where the ECU is located but I found these part numbers for the 2.7:

Part Number Q-ty Part description VIN From VIN To
    LR019991 1 MODULE, L319 DISCOVERY 3 AND 4, EURO STAGE 4 EMISSIONS, STAGE IV + DPF EMISSIONS (V) 9A500258
    LR020351 1 MODULE, L319 DISCOVERY 3 AND 4, EU2, EURO CONSOLIDATED DIRECTIVE 3 (V) 9A333333

I think it's Siemens - but do your own checking anyway. The catalogue I was looking at goes to MY2012.

    Hope it helps.
    Cheers,

    Sean

I had found the suspension ECU/BCU and it's Bosch, it on the drivers side under the cover that is the same as the battery cover.

Everything I have looked at has Bosch on it.
    Cheers Baz.

The suspension ecu is inside on the driver's A-pillar (you know this if you think about it) and the transfer case ecu is in the box near the brake m/c and ABS unit. I think (don't actually know) that the ecm is behind the battery itself and thought I read that the 2.7 changed to Bosch for the MY10/D4 2.7, neither of which are of much use except that what you have found is not likely to be the ecm.

Yep thanks Graeme that's it, transfer case ECU.

If it is behind the battery, I couldn't tell just by looking, that's going to be a pain to get too

I'm hoping it's under the dash somewhere, do you know where is it in the 3.0L Graeme, it might be in the same place as the 2.7l.

The engine ECU is behind the battery on the 2.7 - AFAIK it's in the same place for the 3.0

    Cheers,

I removed the battery and unbolted the engine bay fuse panel quite some time ago and think I can remember seeing the ecm box that includes a ventilation fan.
