Personally I love sitting on leather.
On road, off road, doesn't matter.
Last 5 cars all had leather.
Easy to keep clean. Wipe down with a moist microfiber cloth when the car gets a bath. Apply leather conditioner every 6-12 months, easy to do, doesn't take long.
Why get a car with leather if you don't sit on it?

I like leather upholstery as well. However, I don't necessarily enjoy the back of my legs being burnt when I jump in the car on a hot day.

Leather not as bad as the old fashioned vinyl upholstery when I was a kid
Window tint and a windscreen shade work for me to prevent the burn. And I have black leather

My previous Pajero, which went off-road, had unprotected leather, and lasted well for 9 years until I traded it.

Currently not going with any covers.
