						SubscriberHello
I have noticed several Gro pro clips in trip reports , you tube movies etc.
SHMBO wants one for her cycling activities, she is getting a Gro Pro 3 + Black edition.
To my question how do you mount them to the dash, is there a special mount you purchase ?.
Any body used one for off recording ?, seems like it might be fun to record trips away.
Thanks in Advance for any guidance.
Tony

SupporterMine is on a windscreen suction mount. I use it upside down as high up on the pasenger side of centre as I can get it. There is a setting that you change to use it upside down so the picture orientation is correct.

Yes, always tether, and make sure you test the tether length.
I've done plenty on the dash, roof, rear, panels etc. I like bob's suggestion, I'll try that next trip.
The suction mount is pretty good. I had one mounted on the outside of a Helicopter windscreen for just over an hour.
I use the gopro suction mount and put it anywhere I like on the outside of the vehicle - favorites are roof (for panoramic view), end of bonnet (for the sound & view is good) and on the side of the vehicle. I don't use a tether and I've not lost mine - I spent 90 minutes in a Stearman Biplane doing fairly high G stunts with gopros on the front and rear of the plane ... figure if they don't fall off there then I should be pretty right to put them on the outside of the Disco !

SubscriberThanks for the replies. I would never have thought of mounting the Gro Pro outside of the car, I assume you avoid windscreen glare.
Have been doing a little research, a lot to learn on what video settings to use.
Should be a lot of fun.

SupporterA friend used his suction cup mount on top of the bonnet of my Chev V8 diesel GQ Patrol and we spent a couple of hours and many km running up and down in the water in the Moore River east of Seabird. We got great footage of the water flying over the car and all over the camera and the sound of the big V8 was really good. No tether but I haven't been game to do it with my own GoPro. The problem with the windscreen mount is that the sound is really bad and the windscreen creates an annoying low frequency resonance in both the Patrol and the D4, even using the open back.

Having seen 2 come off of friends motorbikes at 120km/h I can tell you they survive, but only just...
One, as it broke apart the housing went flying past my head, quite an impressive sight!
