I'm looking at the weight he's carrying on the roof. At least 120kg just in fluids, let alone the gear in front. Would make cornering very interesting.

    That is one nice D4:

    - 6 x 18" Dakar Rally rims rated to 1400kg + 6 x Maxxis BigHorn MT-764 (valued at $6000)

    They look like ZU rims.

38mm offset. I wonder if they fit over the callipers or whether he did what Graeme did & put the 2.7 gear on? cheap from the UK:~200GBP

Are Dakar Rally rims made by Zurims - the rims on my 101 look like ZuRims but they are a different brand.

They fit over the calipers and a lot of the D4 owners in South Africa are running them. The offset helps with the clearance issues.
The reason why the GOE/Compomotive rims are special is because they clear the rims with a legal offset.

    That's a generic comment...
In South Australia they would be legal...

Seems too good to be true .....

5" lift rods??!! Maybe it means they're 5" long ?

    800NM to the gearbox - don't think so .........

ZU rims rated to 1400Kg - there's an ongoing dispute in the UK over that (they fit the callipers if you grind them down a bit).

    Cheers,

Happy to be shown otherwise, but AFAIK it's still a max 13mm variation in S.A. - the exception is for 4WD's with front and rear beam axles.

    He's dreaming asking that much.

The accessories might all have cost that mush when they were put on, but on the 2nd hand market, they do not hold their value, even when on a car like this one.

If you were allowed a 25mm track increase would this make the Zu Rims legal i.e. 53 - 38 = 15mm

Just read the Vic Roads modification code and it says 25 mm track increase is OK.

Track increase is total variation ie 15mm + 15mm.

    Cheers,
