Knew I'd read it someone ... Direct from the 2014MY discovery product brief ...

Relocation of the Audio Interface Panel

In preparation for the introduction of Connect & View on Discovery at 15MY, the Audio Interface Panel (Aux-in and Single USB & Scroll Control iPodĀ® Connectivity port) has been relocated from the central cubby box to the upper glove box, to protect the cooler box and central cubby box capacity when Connect & View will be fitted.

My understanding from when I last ordered a new Disco. Using 2014 for the example, the last MY14 rolls off the production line in June. July the factory stops production, retools and starts manufacturing again in August producing the MY15 models.

In June 2012 I ordered an MY13 HSE. Come 30 January I cancelled the order due to being promised delivery before the new year and the dealer revising the delivery date to March. It was a significant retool that year so hopefully you wont be faced with that sort of wait but be prepared for more than 4 months if ordering in May.

    Hi Jimlr

The other week I was at the dealer getting some information about our MY14 which should arrive shortly...I hope, but anyway, they had a MY14 on the lot, so I had a general look around & the USB interface was in the glovebox & not the
central cubby box, don't know if that helps you at all.

    Here we go, more news:

Looks like starting with September uk deliveries, therefore am guessing builds post the factory summer shutdown (late July - August normally) will be MY15 spec.
Not much change. 4 new colours, a new wheel option, a new interior colour option, new steering wheel option....and addition of InControl Apps confirmed.

    MY15 Updates?

Interesting on the new MY15 colours that Luxor, Ipanema Sand, and Nara Bronze making way for Aruba, Kaikora Stone and Montalcino Red. Luxor didn't last long, and therefore goes down in history as a MY14 only special !!

The introduction of start/stop technology would have me worried. Our VW Passat has it, and it's annoying - to the point it will stop me from buying any other car with it in future.

Yes, you can turn it off, but it defaults to "on" every time you start the car, and that's one more button to press before you actually go anywhere.

I know it will become increasingly difficult to get a new car without stop/start, but in my mind that just makes my current Disco all the more worthwhile hanging on to.

In the loan cars I have had, I have had no issue with the stop start. I just change my driving style slightly in heavy traffic.

    Hybrid makes it more comfortable.

We just have to get used to it....it's not going to go away with emission reductions needed.

Re start stop, 1st world problems really! Lol City stop start driving, turn it off, long distance or less traffic keep it on. I actually like it, sitting at the lights and it is so much quieter but yes it's annoying when your in traffic and need to creep.
