Request is made to JLR & an answer is received in 3-5 days normally. If there happens to be a matter that you & your dealer are working through then obviously already JLR would be notified by the service dept. hopefully There are ways that your dealer can help. So Peter "Do LR provide goodwill claims like other manufacturers ?"

I had my rear tail shaft on my Touareg replaced at 5 years....no extended warranty. VW said it was only known to go on the V10 with a lot of heavy towing. Mine is the V6 and has done lots of heavy towing....and within 3 hours VW approved it....VW dealer in Perth went into bat without even talking to me.

That's the only problem in 6 years now and she has now done 160k.

I will choose VW for my next car.....as an every day commuter.

So far my D4 has been faultless, and hope that it's half as good as my Touareg at 6 years.

    Brett....

    Hey Brett,
Yes they can & have done for many clients.
It really depends on the relationship you have with your dealer.
I have known clients for over 15yrs & LR like that & will look upon that kindly i would imagine.

Allianz themselves offer a superior product for roughly the same amount of money than LR will charge you for 'their' extended warranty and is as close to a new car warranty as you will get.

The administration is a fraction more onerous as LR have to contact Alliaz for permission but LR in Brissy did all the legwork for me on the occasions I've used it.

Value for money? I've had to claim a couple of niff naff things ... value ~ a couple of hundred bucks. But on one very expensive occasion the oil pump leaked, which contaminated some belts and some suspension/steering parts if I remember rightly (due to the oil being sprayed around everywhere). Total cost for the pump and other affected bits was in the region of $3500.

Extended Warranty cost was redeemed in that single event.

    Cheers,

    Kev.

Great - thanks for that - will give Allianz a ring and find out what the go is
    Cheers
    Darren
