Has anyone signed up or had experience with 'Club 4X4 Insurance'? Supposedly they specialise in covering all off road driving.
Also wondering if anyone has notified their insurance co about having an engine re-map and if this affects policy?
Cheers

What percentage is the 4wd used off-road?
How would you answer this above:
Fraser Island beach is a gazetted Rd ?
Birdsville Track is a Rd ?
Telegraph Line to Cape York is a Rd ?
Frenches Line, not a road ?
Driving across a farm, not a road ?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Be EXTREMELY careful to read the PDS that applies to you WHEN you take out your insurance. I wish I could name and shame, but I have just been declined a claim based on an old PDS with an off-road exclusion, even though the company has removed the exclusion in the current PDS. Be careful out there the industry is riddled with unscrupulous scum.

I have just signed up with Club 4x4 following several discussions around modifications and water crossings. I'm very happy with their offering for my modified Defender (no engine mods). The price was significantly cheaper than my previous insurer, including off-road recovery, increased personal effects coverage and all my mods ($25K). The excess is a little higher, but I'm OK with that.
