D4. Brake controller, 12 pin plug and LED work around.
I thought that I would start a new thread on this as it covers multiple topics as mentioned above.
I had a Prodigy P2 brake controller installed for a future camper trailer purchase. I didn't want holes anywhere in the dash as they would look average should the unit ever get removed. I had an idea to build a bracket and had the brake guys make one up for me. With a trial run, this is what I came up with:

The final installed version, painted black, and screwed in from underneath. No one will ever see these holes.

They also took out the white socket and installed a 12 pin too. It left the 7 pin black socket free for my 6x4 trailer so I never need an adapter. I have load resistors installed on the trailer for the LED's so it all works as it should. Here is the solution for the camper:

I used the 7 pin black socket and wired up only the load resistor to the LHS indicator using a 7 pin plug. I have used the indicator and the little trailer symbol flashes so I assume that all will be well once the camper is attached to the 12 pin plug.
I have a very basic understanding on electronics and reasonable handyman skills so I hope that everything is kosher here. I have gained a huge amount from reading other threads here which was the basis for my thoughts.
Please offer suggestions and feedback and let me know if this is a complete fail or not!
Cheers

That's roughly how I have my D3 set up at the rear - anderson plug and flat plug on the right (original black plug removed) - but mine is not as neat as that !
I have my brake controller in roughly the same place (a bit lower I think) - two small holes low in the trim and the screws are attached to the mount and I use wing nuts on the inside of the trim (small ones, just enough room), easy to install/remove on the odd occasion I need to use it (my main trailers have no brakes and hydraulic override brakes).

I'll eventually get rid of the 7 pin and put in an Anderson plug when I need it. I mucked around with the position of the brake controller a fair bit but this is within easy reach. Kinda handy if I need it I a hurry.

Where are the knee airbags located? 'Cause I don't want that to become a missile when I'm driving your car

I spoke with the land rover service guys in rAdelaide. They said that the location of the controller would be fine. It was a concern of mine but I can't tell you where the airbags are.

Thanks Sniegy. It's a good spot and allows easy adjustment on huge fly.
