Not so much as they are black plastic except on the 09 model. The plastic is extremely durable and practical. Easy to maintain a deep lustrous black with various products and it doesn't show damage much (both my front ones have 1-2mm gouges all over them from various things and it's not really noticeable).

Lol.... funny you should say that!

Last year when travelling between Goonoodoowindi and Mooney in my D2a, following a B double at about 110, with reasonable but not overly generous braking distance....

I had one of those big bush chooks do a runner between the truck and my ARB...

Missed him.... but only by a feather

Don't ask Baz about emus - he hit one the same day I hit a wallaby!

I can't see any other change from the my08 to 09 other than painted plastic mud guard spats. I'm not surprised as GFC peak would have slowed up any investment when the MY10 D4 was just around the corner.

Yes plus one for the Black Plastic wheel arches and bumper sections.
They can take a real hiding and hardly show any of it.

That'd be right! Just looked on the 3M website as it seems like a good product, but guess what... no listings for the NT. Ah we love it up here; most of the time.
