You can turn the radio back on as many times as you like, but will still shut down after about 10 minutes or so every time.
I get it once, then it won't come back on until the engine is started. If I'm lucky I get 10 minutes, but on occasions as soon as I turn the radio on, it comes up with the 3 minute warning (even thought the battery is at full charge). Completely random....

I could be wrong, but I think the radio in my My14 turns off after 10 mins or thereabouts, even if it's turned on via the on/off switch.
Yep, going to Yatala drive in for the 7pm show of Transformers on Friday the 4th of July.

    That's a novel idea..
I would think 'just' having a drive in to go to, would be a novel idea.

If there is one thing that I find pretty useless in my car, it is the DVD player. If the wheels are turning the screen goes blank. If the car is parked, the system turns off after 10 minutes. So the only way to watch a movie is to leave the engine running and stay put. ( or restart the sound system every ten minutes until the low battery alert comes on.)

Who at Land Rover came up with that?

With my D3 and then D4, I found that the only way to overcome this was to take a portable radio and connect it to my second battery via an invertor.
Still had full volts in my cranking battery to start and drive home.

Maybe a battery powered portable radio. Heaps of good tradie ones out there now.

    Cheers, Craig

Yeah it is pretty useless but on long trips I sometimes play a DVD and just listen to the sound track. Sort of like an audio book. As mentioned, drive and the screen blanks but the sound keeps going. Stop and the screen comes back on.

I'm surprised that no one has yet suggested folding the seats all down and a comfy mattress installed in the back with a couple of doonas...
