I haven't used it - why not the specified Castrol SAF-XO - 75W/90. Is freely available.

Cheers Gary, living up in Gladstone not much in the way of large auto shops with a lot of different oils etc. Would rather use castrol but was thinking of it as a last resort . Found the penrite on the shelf in bundaberg going back there in a fortnight so will keep looking around.

Am about to run Nulon "Full Synthetic 75W-90 Performance Smooth Shift Manual Gearbox and Transaxle Oil" in my diffs and transfer case. Will advise if there is any change. BTW, what twit comes up with a capacity of just 610ml of oil in a front diff???

I assume that LSD oil is needed for the e-diff?

Yep agree but the diff would be lucky to hold 750ml anyway, so filling it the old way don't add much extra.

Put it this way ... a Subaru Liberty takes about 1L of oil in the rear diff, Subaru say to change it effectively every 3 years and they don't break diffs ... on the other hand, you have LR who put in about 3/4 of that in their rear diff, tell you to change it every time haleys comet comes past and intend their vehicle to be subjected to significantly heavier duties than the Sube ... twits indeed, to be polite about it.

Not quite right the rear diff holds 1.1 ltr in the non e- diff but get what you are saying.

Is this suitable for the transfer case with its electronic diff?
