    Engine tune and exhaust

    I was reading the new 4x4 Australia magazine and noticed an advert in the last couple of pages noticed this ad from Roo Systems offering a tune and exhaust system for the Discovery 4 SDV6 with massive torque increases along with great fuel economy. I thought this certainly can't be good for the engine with those big increases. If the calculator I used was correct 800 lb ft of torque is over 1000nm holy crap that's pretty massive.

    Ahh righto apologies there must have missed it maybe. Yeah I guess it's a massive torque increase, i probably wouldn't go there but interesting none the less.

    There are a couple of places now that offer this, Mitchell Bros are doing one for the 3.0l also with similar figures, I wish I had a 3.0l

    It would be pretty bloody awesome i couldn't imagine how quick it would go i just have worries about the engine handling the extra power and torque along with the transmission. But it would be a weapon alright, i just love how the 3.0 SDV6 goes already haha

    Considering that the ZF transmission isn't rated to anywhere near 1000Nm, then if true, it'd be a disaster waiting to happen.

    I love ads that contradict themselves. "Up to 20% fuel saving" yet they are quoting 22.5% improvement for the disco...

    I'm in that camp.... seriously I can get myself in enough trouble with 600Nm, I really cant see why I'd need more ....

    Yeah I can see something bad happening with all that extra power and torque, but then they say oh we cover any issues that happens but then it's all proof of who's problem it is and yeah never works out I don't think.

    I would imagine that there would be more 2.7l owners wanting a tune and exhaust, not to that level of coarse.
