Looking at a d3 - rear tyre inner wear
Hi guys, I just had a look at a d3 today and the rear inner tyres where showing wear on the inner edges, owner mentioned that he had booked it in for an alignment, but just thought I'd ask the question here, is rear tyre wear a common issue or could it be an idication that something in the rear suspension is starting to get a bit of wear. This one has 165k on the clock and has a heavy rear end with kaymar bar and long range tank

D3's require regular wheel alignments and tyre rotation. I did this every service to maximise tyre life.

Agree - after going through a pair of tires in 40K (worn badly on inner edge) I'll be doing my wheel alignment every 15-20K from now on, or whenever the suspension is touched.

Hi,
You need to get the suspension put into ' tight Tolerance' before you go for wheel alignment or you won't get it set properly,(and taken out again after) a Land Rover dealership can do this for you (takes 5 mins, shouldn't cost you anything either reaaly) on SDD if the shop hasn't got the facilities.
