D3 slow speed wheel turned grumble clunk

Hi all just putting this out there to see if anyone has experienced the same noise.
Ok from a stand still wheels turned and on a slight incline with very gentle throttle. As the car moves off I get this grumble clunk clunk clunk etc from the front i think, and as the speed builds it goes away, this happens nearly every morning on the school drop off.
In a straight line take off no problem, no noise.
Apart from that the car is smooth on the highway and around the back streets and the transmission has been serviced and the guy said all ok.
    This is a D3 V8 200,000 K's Auto 2005 mod
Hmm CV ? bearings ? drive shafts? what is it.
    Thanks Barnesy

Do you get it at all when going around a corner under power? How about over bumps under power?

Front cv joints are on their way out. Slow speed with the steering wheel off centre will be when you hear them.
At speed when negotiating a sharpish bend there may be some vibration in the steering when accelerating from a corner too.
