Where to buy intercooler hoses TDV6

    Hello all,

Probably a dumb question but can you buy intercooler hoses from supercheap/autobarn/repco, or do they have to be imported?

I have seen the big one from a few places here for about 150 AUD, which seems ridiculous.

James, you could also check with M.R. Automotive in Brisbane. I got a full set of hoses from them for about $200 or a bit less.

You need to get a silicone one or it will split again.

Hi James, the hoses I purchased from M.R. Automotive were silicon. Terrafirma if I remember correctly.
Didn't mention it because I assumed you were already looking at silicon. After having my second long hose blow, I decided that silicon was the only way to go. I have only replaced the long hose so far, the other two seem to be doing alright since new. 2008 MY with 168,000 km on the clock.
    Cheers

Not quite sure what you guys do to your hoses, my MY07 (Dec 06 build) has just done 145K all original hoses, I bought it at 80K since then it normally tows a 3000kg van so works quite hard.
Just returned from 10,000klm trip to NSW with van, normally cruise between 90 and the limit, does all those hills around Sydney with ease, but have no doubt it is working.

Just booking in for timing belt and will do the hoses on the service guys recommendation although they appear fine - his words - service will be 10k early but suits us all, as we will be away for 3 weeks after Christmas gives him time to not rush it, will do transmission as well, I did a tray and oil change when I bought it at 80K, still have half a drum of oil.

Now to order all the bits, want the oil pump bracket done while the front is off.

    Anything else ?

Water pump is fairy quick and easy if you are in there at the front doing the timing belt / oil pump housing etc. I'm not aware of them failing regularly but if you intend to keep the car a long time and travel remotely it could be a good idea. Cheers, Matt
