Out of interest does anyone know how much the OL twin wheel carrier ways in comparison to the Kaymar carrier in the same spec?

I got the potential to weigh an 80 series land cruiser one when it comes off my wreck - would give you a ball park figure as I can't imagine theres too much difference to the metal sizes between the two. Main differences would be in the mounting

It also doesn't have a damper fitted standard and even though ours often gets parked on a hill most days it doesn't need one. Never had a problem with it swinging closed at any time. If someone is only after a single rear wheel carrier not sure why it needs to be anymore complicated or heavier then one of these?

Someone said they are no longer available, will know soon as I sent a email to Dolium to ask the question, I know they used to often be out of stock for weeks on end though.
    Terry,
I think the Dolium was the Front runner and there is a new version out which does come with a gas strut. I think this is now sold by OL as per my earlier post.

I like the new model but am a bit concerned there may be issues with it and my Stone Stomper which I am sure can be fixed.

    I think

    Richard
