Thread: D4 Locking rear axle - E Diff

The E Diff is a stand alone option and for only a $1060, or there abouts, it is well worth addition if you intend to use your vehicle off-road. It makes a very capable even more capable.

You can have the e-diff with or with out the tech pac, i think the tech pac gives you the front sensors and large screen along with the upgraded stereo. But if you have the tech pac you can see what the diffs are doing and all of the other 4WD info things.

You don't need to have the tech pack to get the 4x4 information, you just need the upgrade audio. My car doesn't have the tech pack but it does have the e diff & the Meridian audio & it's shows all the 4x4 stuff.

Ahh righto so from what I understand your car misses out on front sensors and rear view camera? Or no?

My 4x4 screen shows a padlock symbol opening and closing when driving off-road. Does this symbol indicate that I have an e-diff?

There would be 2 padlocks with an ediff as all D4s have the centre diff lock as standard but if you have the rear diff lock you will see another padlock on the rear diff.

No Nat, mine has front and rear sensors and surround cameras including the rear camera....it's a long story, but I didn't order the tech pack as the Sat Nav component in my opinion was just not worth it. But because of a mix up when the dealer ordered my car, I got the surround cameras, lane departure warning system, wade sensors etc for not much more than $1k.
