    Car Alarm blues

    Hi all,

So my weekend sleep in has been disturbed by my D3 alarm going off randomly. Not once but twice. Is there like a common fault with these or just a case of the movement sensors picking up minute detail.

    Thanks, Ben.

Mine was doing it every month or so.
As it was under warranty,it went to the dealer, and they replaced the left rear door catch mechanism, which seems to have fixed it.

With yours i would bridge out the bonnet switch first and see how you go.

Could well be the left rear door. Went outside later and it was saying on the dash "left rear door open". Gave it a slam shut and all sorted.

Try a D2 with an engel running in it in a quiet camp ground.
I thought somebody was trying to break in to the car,I was onto it after the 3rd episode, the vibration from the fridge starting up setting off the volumetric sensors.
See how the D4 goes, with the D2 I learnt to use the manual key to lock and disable them, new toy new problems.

Yeah Andy, can imagine. Was worse once trying to sleep in my D2 and anytime I moved the alarm went off! Will just play it by ear for now. Cheers for the advice everyone.

Andy, you shouldn't have to worry about that with the D4, It has a single lock and double lock function where the single lock only locks the doors, boot and bonnet but still allows the doors to be opened from the inside with no interior alarm(single press the lock button). Double locking (double press the lock button) will do the above but also lock the doors from the inside and enable the interior alarm. All in the manual if you want more detail.
    Cheers,

That is another of the many, many things you will have to learn about the D4.it is a completely different animal to the D2.And nicer.
i even had difficulty trying to load mine for a camping trip when i first got it(D4).Once i fitted the cargo barrier i was sort of sorted.
Wait until you are hooting along a bush track somewhere and forget to push the 'up' button,or hit a soft sand section and forget to turn the DSC off.

    All fun and games......

Oh,the D2 alarm, mine went off at 2am one morning in the camp ground at Dalhousie springs. The language coming from the many other tents was very 'colourfull',to say the least.
The references made to LR products the next morning was also interesting...
