    Auto wipers do work...

... Even when you're two cars back from a fully loaded b-double cattle truck

Mine came on before the guy in front got his on.

Fortunately it was a number one from the truck.

Perhaps it is due to the Land Rovers empathetic soul.

    It weeps.

When it sees the multitudes in pain for choosing the wrong vehicle.

When it senses forlorn pangs of regret.

When it knows that one of its own could have solved the problem.

    It weeps.

Then the wipers only come on to hide its tears for the unknowing and unloved.

I had the same sorts of problems until someone on this forum suggested turning the settings (the old intermittent wiper speed) down to minimum. Sorted out most of my problems. Service guy at LR said that the sensor on the windscreen must by clean. I always wondered if a light condensation forms and that's enough to set it off.

Mine normally works fine and has done for many years - but windscreen must be clean and I always use minimum setting as letherm says. One of my favorite lazy person features TBH.

Already discovered the clean windscreen bit. Got covered by bug splatter north of Bundy and had to turn them off until I could clean things. Will try the minimum intermittent setting too.

Mine's only 13 days old today and I actually don't know what the intermittent setting is as I've only had it on off and auto.

When you have it on auto the intermittent setting adjusts how sensitive the settings are so you can wind it back and let more water on the screen before it wipes or wind it the other way and its super sensitive.
