						Hi Guys,
doing the fraser in Jan 2015. I got the 2009 D3 petrol SE model equipped with an onboard compressor, rock sliders, GOE rods(ordered), max trax, shovel, snatch strap and 2x20l jerry cans.
My concern is that the car lowered itself when I went to bribie island a couple of weeks back, however the error fixed itself after I came to hard ground. I am just worried that it might happen again. I have read through the option of getting the emergency air up kit but thinking if it is 100% necessary.
Will get my car completely checked and serviced before the trip. do I need a snorkel for the trip?
Please provide your advices.
Thanks
Shiva

Are you sure it didn't lower itself at 50kph, because that is normal, a pain but normal?

nah...it just lower itself for good and showed a EPB fault...tried manually release of EPB but no go...then my mate just dragged out of bribie into hard ground and all of a sudden it cleared the fault and started to work normal again...

						Hi guys,
Will a modified compressor with a software update be more reliable towards this issue.
Hi Shiva,
just came back from Fraser in Sept Hols and there was more water in all the creeks, depressions and lakes, than I have EVER seen (in 20 years).
I think a snorkel is always good to have, but unless you plan to go to Moon Point on the western side or try some of the western creek crossings(@ high tide), then you dont really need it for travelling everywhere else (@ low tide). Also DONT try the puddle at Eurong beach resort entrance WITHOUT a snorkel. Its deeper than you would think.
Have a great time.
Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks Andrew. I am in total confusion as to what to select now. I have 3 choices, GOE emergency air kit fitted or upgrade air compressor from hitachi to amk to avoid suspension issued or a snorkel.
I am assuming if I travel around at low tides then I can get away without the snorkel.
What will be your choice guys???

how do I find what compressor is fitted??
You won't need a snorkel on Fraser. A stock standard D3 is perfectly capable of going everywhere you will want to go.
I would be putting the effort into solving your suspension problem. Once you've got that fixed you won't need anything else, except common sense.
Also, I wouldn't start throwing (expensive) parts at it until you have a better idea of what the problem is. Others around here more knowledgeable than I may have a better idea, but try getting the fault codes read as a first step.
Cheers,
Jon
