    Triple Batteries D3

I know there is the traxide Kit, and I would like to get one eventually though its a bit out of the budget right now and I have a few other things that need doing before I can buy the 'nice to haves'

i currently have two different battery Isolators I can use, a super cheap auto 'electronic' one and then a more old school mechanical solenoid type one.
I have an optima D34 Yellow top already kept from the defender, and may be able to get a second one next to free.

any opinions on which isolator I should use, and how I should go about this on a D3? the only wiring diagrams I can find at for the Traxide unit, assuming I should follow this convention as to make my life easier when It comes to fitting the Traxide controller?

Once you factor in the Cable, connectors etc..

Why not give Tim a call and get the loom from him... You need to wire it anyway...

the 'Mechanical one' is currently in the d3 fitted by the previous owner (and run to an anderson plug using some horrific house power cable 0_0 which will be comming out while I am at it) and doenst seem to affect the car, but assume I am better replacing this with the electronic type as per the Traxide diagram and thus, when I can afford the Traxide kit should make my life easier?

I have rolls and rolls of thick Automotive cable already,
though think I may give him a shout and see if I can get a battery tray from him for when i get the 3rd battery given to me.

When I first picked up my old D3 it had a second battery connected using a solenoid which connected the two batteries when the engine was running.
I never had a problem with this setup. Admittedly it did not allow me to use the starting battery to add to the to amp hours available, conversely when my alternator failed it would have kept the second battery isolated once the engine was off which the Traxide (it may have been faulty) didn't do.
